Personal Statement:

Computer Science is my passion and being able to marry it with my second love, Biology, would be my absolute dream.

I have worked in a number of different jobs ranging from home health care to retail to a DevOps programmer. Each of these positions have given me different skills that will help me excel in any job I take on.

Project: Develop a new method to determine the titre of bacteriophage in solution

Description:

Develop and test a new method to determine the titre of bacteriophage in a given solution as the current standard method of determining titre is inaccurate. A key problem in this research is overcoming the challenge of phage becoming air-born during dilution.

This research came to an early end due to Dr. Hale's retirement, however, I was given permission to continue this research forward independently or with a new advisor.


Project: The effect of teratogens and medications on brain cells in development

Description:

Inject teratogens (such as prescription medication) into the developmental environment of a chicken embryo and study the effects on gene expressions in the brain of the embryo. Growing Brain cells in an incubator and studying the effects of medication thought to stimulate neuronal growth.
